Hi-Tec SA presents Storm

The Southern Storm Duathlon, presented by Hi-Tec, was won by Hi-Tec sponsored couple, Iain (men’s race) and Sue (ladies race) Don Wauchope. Approximately 180 athletes participated in this multi-day event, consisting of trail running and mountain biking that takes place along the Garden Route in the Western Cape.

The Otter African Trail Run was the first stage of the Duathlon. The trail run took place along the 5-day hiking trail, with Iain doing the 42km in a time of 4hrs 59min 02sec and Sue in 5hrs 58min.The technical trail run along the Robberg Peninsula and mountain bike race to Diepwalle Forest Station, which is set high within the Garden Route peaks, took place on the third day, which was followed by another two days of racing.

Day six featured a 12km trail run through the Goukamma Nature Reserve followed by a staggered run-bike-run session to the Ebb & Flow Camp at Wilderness.
